The West Shore is getting ready to cheer on the Canadian Cancer Society Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock as they roll in after a two-week ride to battle pediatric cancer.

B次元官网网址淭his is the tail end of their ride,B次元官网网址� said Donna Fraser, member of the West Shore Tour de Rock Committee.

This year will mark the 15th anniversary of the tour, and the committee is planning to celebrate. On Oct. 3, a celebration and silent auction will be held at the Westin Bear Mountain Golf Resort and Spa.

This yearB次元官网网址檚 team will make stops throughout the day, including Ruth King Elementary School, and will end their day at the event. B次元官网网址淚tB次元官网网址檚 an awesome event to meet and greet the riders after their long journey,B次元官网网址� said Fraser.

Fraser said that the hope is to raise an additional $10,000.

Attendees will have the chance to bid on items donated by the community. Commemorative 15-year anniversary hats will also be available B次元官网网址� each containing a number associated with a secret prize.

Fraser, whose husband rode in the tour last year, noted that its all for a good cause. B次元官网网址淣o child should have to battle cancer,B次元官网网址� she said.

All proceeds go to pediatric cancer research, and to send child cancer sufferers to Camp Good Times.

The event also has several guest speakers, including Kathy Ilott from the Canadian Cancer Association, Danny Willis of the West Shore RCMP, and Carly Ingalls, director of Coast Capital Savings. Team member Harrison Teed will introduce the team.
