Changing the size of the provincially-appointed Victoria Regional Transit Commission, as proposed by Esquimalt Mayor Chris Clement, wonB次元官网网址檛 make the transit system better, says Colwood Mayor Jody Twa. Esquimalt will soon ask other Capital Region municipalities to support a new way of overseeing transit, but Twa says the commission is working as well as it can given its budget limitations.

Clement believes his town and others should have a greater voice in the regionB次元官网网址檚 transit system.

The Capital Regional District has scouted three potential locations for sewage treatment plants on the West Shore, as part of its government-ordered wastewater management plan. The locations are purposefully vague, but one is suggested for the Colwood Corners area near the CRDB次元官网网址檚 main sewer trunk line.

A report presents a series of options, from upgrading only the Macaulay and Clover Point outfalls to secondary treatment, to adding one or two West Shore plants. B次元官网网址淚t is all preliminary. No sites have been picked,B次元官网网址 cautions Langford Coun. Denise Blackwell, the CRD chair.

The looming presence of one of the worldB次元官网网址檚 largest ships, the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier, causes traffic delays in Colwood as thousands of people flock to the area for a glimpse of the titanic ship. The ship boasts more than 6,000 employees, 86 aircraft, 40 doctors, 16 dentists and has its own newspaper, radio and television stations.

Langford resident Tom Hartley says Mill Hill Regional Park is slowly being destroyed. Hartley, who has enjoyed the park since he moved to the area nine years ago, always considered it to be a beautiful and quiet spot for a walk, but about 18 months ago that started to change. Trees were removed, banks caved in and more trees fell into Millstream creek, he charges. Hartley believes residential areas have been built too close to the creek.

The CRD, which has jurisdiction over parts of the creek, says it canB次元官网网址檛 be responsible for what happens further upstream.
