If your child has their heart set on becoming a professional dancer, or maybe one day hitting the stage on the popular reality TV show So You Think You Can Dance Canada, a class this weekend might just be what theyBԪַre looking for.
Elevate Dance Centre is hosting a master class with Tara-Jean Popowich, the season two winner of So You Think You Can Dance Canada.
Lina Lewis, co-director of Elevate, said Popwich doesnBԪַt just teach dance, she talks about confidence, self esteem and resilience.

Originally from Lethbridge, Alta., Popowich travels the world teaching dance. Lewis said Popowich has taught classes on the Island previously in the Cowichan Valley.
Popowich will be teaching a class with two parts, the first is contemporary dance with choreography and the latter half is an improv style. Lewis said class sizes are smaller so Popowich can do one-on-one with each dancer.
There are two classes, the first is for ages 8 to 11, or 12 and up with less than four years of dance training, that runs from noon until 1:30 p.m. The second class is for ages 12 and up or dancers with four or more years of dance training, that runs from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The dance classes will be hosted at ElevateBԪַs newest location, 1- 121 Presley Pl., in the Lakeside Village complex at Six Mile Road, on Sunday, Aug. 12.
