While some members of the West Shore community may just need a hot meal, he noted others are in desperate need of social interaction, which is why the Salvation Army is hosting its annual West Shore Community Christmas Dinner, this Saturday, Dec. 3, at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 798 Goldstream Ave. B次元官网网址淚tB次元官网网址檚 just a chance to spend time together B次元官网网址 ItB次元官网网址檚 open to everyone,B次元官网网址 Kogan said.
Doors open shortly before 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6, featuring turkey with all the trimmings. Last year roughly 220 people attended and organizers expect a similar turnout this year.
SantaB次元官网网址檚 Saxes, a musical quartet, will be on hand to perform some festive tunes and Kogan noted their dedication to the event is evident year after year. B次元官网网址淭heyB次元官网网址檙e usually the first group to contact me.B次元官网网址
Another special guest is on the agenda for the evening, he added. B次元官网网址淲e anticipate Santa will make the journey.B次元官网网址 Toys for the event were donated by the Salvation Army B次元官网网址 so as not to deplete SantaB次元官网网址檚 supplies this close to the big day.
While the dinner is hosted by the Salvation Army, a number of community members and local businesses offer donations (including turkeys) and volunteers to help make the event possible, Kogan said.
