The 848 Royal Roads Air Cadets showed off their marching skills and demonstrated other skills in front of guests that included a former Snowbirds flyer, at their annual awards ceremony last week at Belmont secondary.
The ceremonial reviews are conducted at corps and squadrons across the country, but each one is unique, said Capt. Mandart Chan, the 848 squadronB次元官网网址檚 commanding officer.

Warrant Officer First Class Dayton Teague was named most outstanding cadet and received the Commanding Officer Award. Sgt. Sam Staples received the Lord Strathcona Medal and Warrant Officer Second Class Ben Thompson was awarded the Legion Medal of Excellence.
Sgt. Breanna Williams was recognized for achievement and initiative, while Warrant Officer Second Class Connor Melanson was awarded a medal for contribution to cadet athletics. Fellow WO2 Jamie Acosta received the 800 Wing bursary.
Among the special guests was retired Lt.-Col. Robert B次元官网网址淪cratchB次元官网网址 Mitchell, who served as reviewing officer. The former Colwood resident flew with and was commanding officer for the internationally renowned Snowbirds during his career.
The 3005 11th Service Battalion and the 3005 Army Cadets also took part in the May 31 ceremony.
