PHOTOS: Santa Claus parade lights up Victoria's downtown

The downtown core saw thousands of spectators

Thousands gathered in Victoria's downtown for a night of ethereal lights and holiday festivities.

On Saturday, Nov. 30 the streets of the downtown core were packed for the 42nd annual Peninsula Co-op Santa Claus Parade, which took place along Government Street, Humboldt Street, and Douglas Street before dispersing at the Victoria Public Market.

The parade featured dozens of floats wrapped in Christmas lights representing local businesses, non-profits and governmental organizations and additionally, Peninsula Co-op representative handed out free prizes for the kids.

Throughout the night, organizers also collected food and cash donations for the Mustard Seed Street Church and Food Bank.
