Three shows remain for the William Head on Stage play, Sleeping Giants, inspired by A Midsummer NightB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s Dream and Rip Van Winkle. Shows happen Nov. 3, 4 and 5. Tickets must be purchased in advance from the Metchosin Country Store or through Ticket Rocket.
Friday Nov. 4, 7 p.m.
Anyone with an interest in mushrooms is invited to the Metchosin Municipal Hall for a talk with Britt Bunyard, mycologist and editor for Fungi Magazine. Titled Mushroom Stones to Stoned Apes: the origins of the fungi. The third annual Mycoblitz will take place the following morning.

Tuesday Nov. 8, 7 p.m.
Celebrate the 20th birthday of the Habitat Acquisition Trust by attending a Nature Fundraiser Gala. Canapes and beer/wine will be served; the night also includes music and a silent auction. The event takes place at the Glen Rosa Farm Restaurant, 5447 Rocky Point Rd. Tickets are available for a minimum $20 donation.

Charles Grooms, founder of a sustainable, multi-generational farming operation on 53 acres on Saltspring Island, speaks on his experiences.
The talk is taking place at the Metchosin Community House, 4430 Happy Valley Rd.
