Black Press and Staples, in partnership with Camosun College, are proud to recognize some of the great teachers found here in the Capital Region. We asked our readers to nominate teachers who have gone above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of the students they teach.
Lisa Spalding is a teacher at the Westshore Centre for Learning. Here is what nominator Tanya Goodson had to say about her:
Lisa is the most caring, compassionate teacher I have ever worked with. We work together (currently) at Westshore Colwood. As an Educational Assistant in LisaB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s class part time, she has always treated me as an equal, as a team member working together to support our students.
Lisa goes beyond to help out these kids, while also looking after her own family. Lisa is also quite the cooking teacher at our school who provides wholesome hearty meals to students who are learning a very valuable life skill. Lisa is very deserving to be acknowledged and validated. Keep up the great work you do!
Look for our Great Teachers special section running June 21 which will recognize the three teachers selected as this yearB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s representatives as well as list all of the West Shore nominees.
