Beacon Community Services (BCS) celebrates five decades of supporting seniors and growing to span communities and generations this year.
Since inception in 1974, BCS has continually adapted to meet the changing landscape of social challenges, from supporting seniors with essential care and companionship to empowering youth through housing, education, and skill-building.
In 2023, BCS housed more than 135 individuals through a mix of dementia care homes, assisted living, and subsidized and affordable housing.
Its Homelessness Prevention and Shelter Services supported 175 youth and employment services helped 118 individuals find work.

BCS provides 250 licensed childcare spaces, supporting working families in communities throughout Greater Victoria.
In the last year, The SHOAL Centre welcomed 963 new members, supporting seniors in maintaining active lifestyles and the centreB次元官网网址檚 More than Meals program served 17,740 meals.
BeaconB次元官网网址檚 Better at Home program facilitated 2,433 medical drives and cleaned 2,935 client homes.

To commemorate the milestone, BCS hosts staff and volunteer appreciation events and a special fundraising event later this year.
