Winters applied for a grant from the province to clean up Goldstream Park and was awarded $500 which he put towards equipment, food and transportation for the clean-up on Saturday.

Winters said park rangers will join him to guide volunteers to areas they feel need the most attention. Volunteers will be provided with gloves and garbage pickers as well as a free lunch.

A school bus will also be headed to the park from the Home Depot parking lot at the University Heights Shopping Centre to give volunteers a lift. Those that need a ride should arrive at the parking lot before the bus leaves at 9:50 a.m.

The clean-up will begin around 10:20 a.m. and should end by 12:30 p.m.

Winters said he is expecting a good number of volunteers for the event already.
