The City of Colwood has added a splash of colour to the communityB次元官网网址檚 streets in the form of new decorative banners featuring local art.
Each banner, hung from light posts lining the cityB次元官网网址檚 streets and walkways, features a locally-sourced photo of something residents value in their community.
Intended to celebrate opportunities to live life to the fullest in Colwood, each banner also features a word ending in -ful, such as artful, colourful, or peaceful.
Some of the banners set up around town include a knitted octopus that was crafted and shared by a Colwood resident for everyone in the community to enjoy, a young girl carefully placing a shell on the ocean shore at the Esquimalt Lagoon, a Lekwungen dancer placing his hands on the earth at the NaB次元官网网址檛saB次元官网网址檓aht gathering for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation at Royal Beach in 2021, a kayaker paddling along ColwoodB次元官网网址檚 shoreline at sunset, and Esquimalt Nation Elder Mary Ann Thomas blessing the site of new housing being built in 2019 at 342 Wale Rd.
