Black Press MediaBԪַs Greater Victoria editorial team has been honoured with four 2023 Canadian Community BԪַpaper Awards.
The competition, for work from the 2022 calendar year, saw almost 800 entries in 27 categories ranging from photography to overall excellence.
Taking the top spot for Best Multimedia Breaking BԪַ Coverage, was the Saanich BԪַBԪַ work on the June 2022 Saanich bank shooting.

The news team also picked up Best Multimedia Feature for the Goldstream GazetteBԪַs truth and reconciliation series. That series ran in all of Greater VictoriaBԪַs papers, as well as online with video.

Last, but not least, Victoria BԪַ claimed third for Best Community BԪַpaper Website (circulation 10,000 and over), following our sister publications the Nanaimo BԪַ Bulletin and the Surrey NOW-Leader.
In total, Black Press Media publications were honoured with 26 awards, including nine first-place finishes.
