A little over two months after the development and City held a soft opening celebration, crews have put the finishing touches on the ocean-side park, complete with a childrenB次元官网网址檚 playground and some extra sand for castle building and sun tanning, once the weather improves.
B次元官网网址淎s a company, weB次元官网网址檙e so happy with the progress we made on the Beachpark this year,B次元官网网址 said Cortney Fraser, Royal BayB次元官网网址檚 manager of marketing and communications.
Fraser added her thanks to Colwood council, who suggested the park should be accessible for those with mobility issues.
With that in mind, a road has been constructed that can take individuals right down to the waterfront where handicapped parking stalls await.
This road can also be used by paddlers who wish to drop off their boats rather than carry them down to the beach.
B次元官网网址淲e have this awesome, inclusive park that I think is only going to get busier now that the playground is complete,B次元官网网址 Fraser said.
The playground fits in well with the surrounding environment, having been constructed using wood rather than plastic or metal. That impressive level of detail wasnB次元官网网址檛 done by accident.
B次元官网网址淲e carefully chose elements that would blend well with the natural surroundings,B次元官网网址 Fraser noted.
The Beachpark, which had been , will now be open seven days a week moving forward. Royal Bay officials have big plans for the park starting next spring, including standup paddleboard rentals and regular food truck, group workout and yoga sessions, although many of those details are still being ironed out.
Stay tuned to for ongoing updates.
