West Shore players contest Seniors Classic basketball games

Belmont and Royal Bay secondaries represented at UVic

The annual South Vancouver Island Basketball Association Seniors Classic all-star games saw players from across the Island do battle on the courts at UVicB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s Centre for Athletics, Recreation and Special Abilities.

North Island teams won all three games on the day. One of those was an 81-61 decision in the girls contest, where BelmontB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s Claire Church scored nine points and Jessica Thomsen two for the South.

The North beat the South 80-68 in the boys B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·˜AB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™ game, in which BelmontB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s Jackson Leeder scored eight and Edward MilneB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s Frederick Moeller hit for 14 points. The BulldogsB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™ Ryan Backhouse was kept off the scoreboard.

In the boys B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·˜BB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™ game, Team North scored an 82-64 victory. Royal BayB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s Ben Ousey and Spencer Bourne scored two points each, while Brady Greenwood of Edward Milne had five. The RavensB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™ Davey Sundher also coached the B boys team.
