The Langford Rebels have made it to nationals, but the 11-member team needs help getting to the competition.

The womenB次元官网网址檚 under 18 softball team came in sixth out of 13 B.C. teams during last weekendB次元官网网址檚 provincial championships in View Royal, claiming the last spot for the 2012 U18 WomenB次元官网网址檚 Fast Pitch Canadian Championships in Montreal, Quebec, Aug. 12 to 19.

B次元官网网址淭he girls are very excited because theyB次元官网网址檝e never had the opportunity before,B次元官网网址� Tammy Barry, a mother of one of the players, said Tuesday.

This was the first season the girls have played as the Rebels with Langford Fastball B次元官网网址� itB次元官网网址檚 also LangfordB次元官网网址檚 first midget team.

Langford came in sixth after the round robin, losing to the Victoria Rebels on Saturday, beating the Kelowna Heat Sunday morning and then losing to the White Rock Renegades later that afternoon.

It was the game against the Heat that ensured a berth in the nationals, Barry said.

To make the trip, the team is in a scramble to raise funds for travel expenses, including hotel and food costs.

The Rebels have a series of coin and bottle drives planned for this weekend at various locations in Langford.
