After a disappointing , the (8-4-1) got a measure of revenge and took it to the last-place Thunder (2-10-0) on Friday night.

The Shamrocks did the bulk of their scoring in the second period after a low-scoring first that saw VictoriaB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s Mike Triolo and LangleyB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s Dylan LaCroix notch the only goals.

Eight second period Shamrocks shots filled the Thunder net behind goaltenders Davide Diruscio and Zack Wickett, including three from captain Corey Small.

Altogether, the Shamrocks fired 26 shots on the visiting goaltenders and conceeded just a single Thunder goal in the dominant frame.

The third period was won by the Thunder by a modest 3-2 score, not nearly enough to make the game competitive again.

Small, the leagueB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s leading scorer, added two assists in addition to his three goals. Casey Jackson had a five-point night of his own with two goals and three helpers.

Cody Hagedorn had a mostly quiet night but was solid when he had to be, stopping 30 of the 35 Thunder shots he faced.

The win puts the Shamrocks in a tie at the top of the Western Lacrosse Association standings with the Burnaby Lakers (8-3-1). The Lakers hold a game in hand.

The Maple Ridge Burrards (8-4-0) are a point back and have a game in hand of their own.

The Shamrocks host the Coquitlam Adanacs on Friday night at The Q Centre (7:30 p.m.) before travelling to Nanaimo for a road contest with the Timbermen on Saturday.
