There's more reason to cheer at a Victoria Grizzlies home game in 2025, with the launch of the club's Hometown Heroes program.

At every Grizzlies home game, a deserving local organization will be recognized and will receive a $5,000 donation to support their work, says the club in a news release.

The club has partnered with Keycorp Developments for the program, which aims to celebrate local heroes and organizations across the West Shore and Greater Victoria who make a positive impact in the community. 

The first donation was made at the Jan. 3 game against Coquitlam, with Victoria Special Olympics, who support athletes with intellectual disabilities, receiving a much-needed financial boost.

As well as financial support, the club hopes the Hometown Heroes program will help shine a light on the inspiring efforts of local groups and individuals and encourage Grizzlies fans to support their initiatives.
