A soccer coach from Vancouver Island is now in charge of the IslandB次元官网网址檚 highest-calibre soccer side.

Pacific FC announced Friday, Jan. 21, that James Merriman has been promoted as head coach of VictoriaB次元官网网址檚 Canadian Premier League club.

The 36-year-old, who hails from Nanaimo, has been an assistant coach with the club since its inaugural 2019 season and was part of the staff that led Pacific FC to a CPL championship in 2021.

Merriman has previously been an assistant coach at Simon Fraser University and Vancouver Island University. He said in the release that heB次元官网网址檚 excited to build off the teamB次元官网网址檚 championship season and the foundation it has built.
