Nine and 10-year-old players from the Triangle Athletic Association will see their first tournament baseball action of the season over the long weekend.
The six Mosquito division teams from TriangleB次元官网网址檚 B.C. Baseball organization will be joined by teams from Peninsula, Carnarvon and Nanaimo, as well as one from Port Coquitlam, on the three Juan de Fuca fields at West Shore Parks and Recreation.
The event kicks off with a fun skills competition this Friday night (May 19), where players will have a chance to test their hitting, throwing and running abilities in a fun-based environment.
Tournament play gets underway Saturday morning, with two pools of five teams each contesting four round-robin games ahead of the playoff round.
The semifinals happen at 9 a.m. Monday, with the bronze and gold medal games set to start at noon that day.

Special tournament meals will be created by the parkB次元官网网址檚 concession operator, she noted, and the players will all receive goodie bags including swim passes, courtesy West Shore Parks and Recreation, for those in-between-games times.
Each of the local teams is assembling a large gift basket full of items to be raffled off as a fundraiser for Triangle baseball, and 50/50 draws will be ongoing each game.
