Trade adds size and grit to Shamrocks

Brebber stoked to be playing lacrosse back in Victoria

The Victoria Shamrocks added grit, size and scoring ability with a trade for Paul Brebber.

The team acquired the six-foot-one-inch, 195-pounder from the Nanaimo Timbermen in exchange for a second round pick in the 2018 draft.

Brebber is entering his fourth season in the Western Lacrosse Association and has racked up 78 points in 49 games, including 43 goals. The 25-year-old right-handed shooter also posted 78 penalty minutes in his first three seasons in the WLA.

The former first-round pick by Nanaimo in the 2013 junior draft is a Nanaimo native, but currently lives and works in Victoria.

Brebber, who played junior lacrosse in Victoria in 2012, said heB次元官网网址檚 excited about the opportunity to wear a Shamrocks jersey again.

Shamrocks head coach Bob Heyes described Brebber as a hard worker and a character player with a scoring touch, and said his physical play and character will add size and grit up front.

The Shamrocks kick off the 2016 WLA season on May 20 at The Q Centre.
