ThereB次元官网网址檚 a fundraising event for soccer players who want to improve facilities for their sport, while having a lot of fun playing the beautiful game.

ItB次元官网网址檚 the Turf Burn Seven-a-Side Adult Co-Ed Soccer Tournament, which takes place Friday (Aug. 7) through Sunday on the lower fields at the Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre.

On top of the matches, activities include a breakaway contest, limbo demonstration, the ever-popular beer garden, local DJs and a Saturday night Social Hour that is a real crowd rocker.

Proceeds from the seventh annual event will go toward upgrading facilities and programs for soccer players of all ages throughout Greater Victoria, and to local charities such as KidSport.

Thirty-two teams were involved in last yearB次元官网网址檚 tournament, and about the same number are expected this weekend, said tournament chair Mark Phillips.

Registration is $450 per team, with a maximum of 15 players per side.

Two skill levels are available: a recreational co-ed division, and an open co-ed division for players with higher-level experience.

There must be a minimum of three female players on the field during all games.
