Renyard named top Jr. A hockey goalie in the country

Outstanding year in Alberta Jr. A league earns Saanich resident top honours

Former Victoria Grizzlies netminder Nic Renyard was announced last week as winner of the top goaltender award for Canadian junior A hockey, beating out four other national nominees.

Saanich resident Renyard, 20, didnB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™t figure in the GrizzliesB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™ plans at the beginning of last yearB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s B.C. Hockey League season. He hooked up with the Okotoks Oilers of the Alberta Jr. A league and led the loop in wins (30) and save percentage (.924). He won the AJHLB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s MVP and top goalie awards and is committed to the University of Massachusetts of the NCAAB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s Hockey East conference.
