A 7-6 overtime win against Saanich at The Q Centre on Saturday salvaged a tough week for the Westshore Wolves junior B hockey team.
Clay Carson notched the winner 3:00 into overtime, throwing water on the BravesB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™ comeback attempt. The Wolves led 6-4 late in the third, but gave up two Saanich goals in the final 1:43 of the period.
Carson added an assist in the game, while Cory Hatcher had a pair of goals in the win. Connor Krupa, Jordan Martin, Tyler Smith and Nick Guiney also scored for the Wolves.
Westshore was coming off a 6-1 home loss to Victoria last Wednesday and a 6-4 loss in Nanaimo the following night. The Wolves host Peninsula on Thursday (Nov. 27) at 7 p.m.

Kyle Richter leads the team in goals with 14 and points with 32 in 21 games, good for ninth spot in the league scoring list. Krupa is next with 12 goals and 14 assists, followed by Brett Lervold (11-14-25, 18 games), Corey Peterson (7-18-25), Guiney (12-8-20) and Spencer Preece (6-13-19).
Drayson Pears leads Wolves defencemen in scoring with five goals and 12 assists for 17 points, followed by Smith (8-4-12), Dylan Grant (4-3-7) and Quentin McShane (3-4-7). Chris Smith has carried the workload for the Wolves in net, posting a 10-5-0 record with 3.84 goals against average and .872 save percentage.
