The West ShoreB次元官网网址檚 rugby pitch will be filled with hard-hitting action this weekend.
While the women have the week off, in local Div. 1 menB次元官网网址檚 play, Westshore Valhallians take on the visiting UVic Norsemen at the West Shore Recreation Centre fields beginning at 1 p.m. Oct. 31. The B.C. Premier League hits the pitch at 2:45 p.m., with the University of Victoria Vikes visiting the Valhallians, also at Juan de Fuca.
In Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League play, the Westshore Wolves start their weekend today (Oct. 30) with an away game against the Peninsula Panthers. The puck drops at 6:30 p.m. at Panorama Arena.
On Wednesday, Nov. 4 the Wolves host the Kerry Park Islanders at 7 p.m. at The Q Centre. Finishing the week on Friday, Nov. 6, the Wolves head to Saanich to take on the Braves at 6:30 p.m. at Pearkes Arena.
The B.C. Hockey LeagueB次元官网网址檚 Victoria Grizzlies continue to be busy at home this week, hosting the Cowichan Valley Capitals at 7 p.m. tonight at The Q Centre. The teams will enjoy a re-match the following Friday, Nov. 6, when the Grizz once again host the Capitals, once again at 7 p.m.
In high school rugby action, the Belmont Bulldogs football team hosts South Delta on Friday, Oct. 30 at Westhills Stadium at 5 p.m.
High school volleyball is well into playoff mode. Royal Bay hosts the junior boys (Grade 9-10) Lower Island playoffs next Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 4 and 5, while the cityB次元官网网址檚 junior girls teams open their playoffs on Monday Nov. 2.
The senior girls teams are done with local playoffs, but still await matches to determine Island tourney rankings. Belmont and Royal Bay senior boys play power pools next week then separate into their AA and AA designations for Lower Island playoffs the following week.
Middle school basketball will be busy next Monday, Nov. 2.
