The Victoria Grizzlies start a tough week of hockey, playing three games on the road B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·“ facing Coquitlam, Merritt and Nanaimo B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·“ before returning home to The Q Centre on Thursday, Nov. 19 when they host Trail at 7 p.m. The GrizzliesB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™ final game of the week goes Friday, Nov. 20, taking on Cowichan Valley at the Q Centre at 7 p.m. In Vancouver Island junior B hockey, the Westshore Wolves start their week with a road trip tonight (Nov. 13). TheyB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™ll meet the Peninsula Panthers at 7:30 p.m. at Panorama Recreation Centre. The Wolves next hit home ice Nov. 18 when they host Saanich Braves at 7 p.m. The Juan de Fuca Grizzlies Midget Tier 1 team is competing in the Greater Victoria Midget Hockey Classic this week. Following early round-robin games Wednesday and Thursday (after the Gazette deadline) the Grizzlies hit the ice this morning (Nov. 13) against the Cloverdale Colts at Juan de Fuca Arena. Additional West Shore games are scheduled today at Westhills Arena, when Saanich Braves Tier 1 faces the Richmond Blues at 1 p.m. Playoffs start at 9 a.m. Saturday at Panorama Arena with the gold medal game at 2:30 p.m. Vancouver Island Div. 1 menB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s rugby play continues tomorrow (Nov. 14) when Westshore Valhallians take on the Nanaimo Hornets at the Juan de Fuca Recreation field at 1 p.m. In Premier women, the Westshore Valkyries are in Oak Bay tomorrow to play Castaway-Wanderers at Windsor Park. Game time is 11:30 a.m. Lower Island Div. 1 ladies soccer play sees Juan de Fuca play Saanich Fusion FC United on Sunday at Tyndall Park, starting at 4 p.m. In Vancouver Island Div. 4A menB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s play, Juan de Fuca plays Zgoda Juniors FC at Central Park in Victoria. JdFB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s 3B side hosts the Vic West Casuals at the Juan de Fuca field Sunday at 2:15 p.m., while the JdF U21 grads host Gorge FC there at noon. Middle school boysB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™ and girlsB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™ basketball continues, with John Stubbs travelling to SaanichB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s Glanford middle school Monday, Nov. 16. Tip-off for the girls is at 3:45 p.m. with the boys following at 5:15 p.m. On Wednesday, Nov. 18, Dunsmuir visits Glanford at 3:45 p.m. Registration is open for the Victoria Minor Ball Hockey Association, with divisions for players born between 1997 and 2011.
