While their season may be over, the Westshore Wolves look forward to fall with their spring camp, running Friday, April 8 to Sunday, April 10 at The Q Centre. Come watch Westshore hockey hopefuls try to earn their spot on the team.
The top junior B hockey teams converge on the Archie Browning Sport Centre this week, as the WolvesB次元官网网址� cross-town rivals the Victoria Cougars host the Cyclone Taylor Cup through April 10. The champions from the KIJHL, PJHL and the VIJHL, along with the IslandB次元官网网址檚 second-place finishers, the Campbell River Storm, compete for the trophy and the chance to move on to the Keystone Cup.
On the diamond, Triangle Baseball hosts its opening ceremonies this Saturday, April 9 beginning at 10 a.m. at the Juan de Fuca fields.
Across town, the Victoria Eagles Premier team, which includes players from the West Shore, also opens the season Saturday. Following the opening ceremonies at 11 a.m., local baseball legend Bob Burrows will throw the first pitch, followed by a doubleheader against the Parksville Royals. The first game is at noon, with game two set to start at 2:30 p.m., both at Lambrick Park. The Eagles head to the Mainland Sunday for a double-header against the Abbotsford Cardinals.
