VictoriaB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s Julien Marceau led a field of more than 200 runners in the inaugural St. PaddyB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s Day 5K race on the trails through the golf course at Bear Mountain on Sunday.
Marceau, competing in the menB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s age 30 to 34 category, crossed the line in 20 minutes, 43 seconds.
He wound up 16 seconds ahead of Victoria runner Warren Beattie (40-44) in 20:59. Gary Duncan, in the menB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s 55 to 59 group, was third in 21:17.
Jessica Lougheed of Victoria was the fastest woman runner, clocking 22:26 and also winning the 30 to 34 category.
Jenny Quilty (25-29) of Victoria was just behind at 22:29, while Kyla Beattie (35-39) rounded out the top three in the close race for No. 1 woman, timing in at 22:32.
