Grizzlies split weekend home-and-home with Bulldogs

Both BCHL teams steal a win in each other's building

The Victoria Grizzlies were on opposite ends of identical scores last weekend against Alberni Valley in B.C. Hockey League play.

The Grizzlies (3-2-0-1) beat the Bulldogs 4-3 in Port Alberni on Saturday, one night after the visitors scored a 4-3 overtime decision at The Q Centre.

The results left the Grizzlies in second place in the Island Division, one point back of the Nanaimo Clippers (4-3) entering this weekB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s play.

In Port Alberni, Victoria erased a 3-2 Alberni lead with  a pair of shorthanded goals in the third by Jay Mackie and P.J. Conlon.

The teams were tied 2-2 after one period.

Cody van Lierop and Shawn McBride also scored in the win.

AlberniB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s Josh Adkins scored 43 seconds into double overtime in Colwood to give the Bulldogs the win on Friday.
