Rathwell, riding for the Broad Street Cycle team around the rolling hills of Metchosin, ground out a win with a major attack on the final hill to win the 70-kilometre elite womenB次元官网网址檚 race in a time of two hours, 30 minutes, for the third time in four years.
Having broken away from the pack with three other riders, Rathwell worked with eventual second-place finisher Janna Gillick from Nanaimo on the final sprint to the finish.
VancouverB次元官网网址檚 Morgan Cabot wound up third followed by CalgaryB次元官网网址檚 Anna Traxler.
In the 120 km menB次元官网网址檚 elite race, McLeod caught the leaders on the final lap and won an all-out uphill sprint to the finish line at about the 3:09 mark.
B次元官网网址淚 didnB次元官网网址檛 have any teammates (in the race) so I just watched the others and saved myself for the end,B次元官网网址 said McLeod, who also won in 2014.
Kyle Buckosky of Surrey and Brent Dallimore of Vancouver finished second and third, respectively.
