Hanging in the quiet, still air around the Juan de Fuca Lawn Bowls Club is a sense of tension as the finals for the 2023 Canadian Lawn Bowling Championships approach.
The Colwood clubB次元官网网址檚 greens are playing host to more than 160 participants from across the country, all vying for the coveted title of Canadian champion.
Tournament play started on Aug. 18, with the finals set for Saturday (Aug. 26). While the lawn bowling greens are busy, they are more brown in patches, with the dry summer weather having an impact.

Robertson added the weather has held up well during play and there has been a decent gathering of spectators taking in the action.

Each province holds provincial tournaments and the winners of those are awarded a spot on the provincial team and in the championship.
There is a menB次元官网网址檚 and womenB次元官网网址檚 division for each event, with pairs and fours consisting of 10 teams, with 24 athletes in both divisions for the singles competition.
Juan de Fuca Lawn Bowling Club celebrated 25 years in 2018.
