Salmon fishing in Sooke continues to be excellent.
Large spring or chinook, hatchery coho, and pink salmon are open for retention of up to four fish per person, only two of which can be springs or hatchery coho.
Please do not retain fish where you are unsure of the species, it may result in a fine.
Wild coho and sockeye salmon are also in the area, but are closed to retention.
Regulations and fishing licences are available on line at or at your local tackle provider. Regulations and species descriptions are also posted at most marinas.
