Water cost contributes to landscaping die-off

Heavy water bill the reality for homeowner whose plants are dying off

Re: (Homefinder, Aug. 14)

The article says homeowners donBԪַt realize weBԪַre not in extreme watering restrictions. But itBԪַs not BԪַwatering misconceptionsBԪַ that is taking the toll on landscaping.

My July water bill, despite letting most of my mature shrubs, hedges and flower beds die as well as giving up on watering my lawns, was half of what I budget for gasoline. Wrap your head around that.

Watering restrictions donBԪַt play a part in the death of most of my landscaping. I simply canBԪַt afford to water it BԪַ so I wonBԪַt be replacing it. Many homeowners are in the same boat.
