Support for police starts at the ballot box

Local politicians need to put their taxpayers' money where their mouth is on supporting police

Expressions of sympathy over the death of an RCMP officer in a traffic accident while on duty in Langford are nice, but will voters show support for police at the ballot box instead of electing neo-Marxist politicians who oppose policing?

Many of those who expressed sympathy will, but I doubt neo-Marxist politicians who jumped on the sympathy bandwagon will. Politicians of the Green and federal Liberal parties, and the NDP are known to make fallacious complaints about good police operations, associate with persons who condone violence, deny the existence of evil, and lie that they have no influence on police budgets.

Langford Mayor Stew Young did want to increase funding for police, unlike some West Shore politicians, after an assault on a trail the RCMP had claimed was safe. (ThereB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s a problem with police making excuses for politicians, they should stay neutral.)

Typical politicians want to spend money on glitz, handouts to mooching organizations, and pet do-gooder projects instead of on protecting individuals against initiation of force. That failure to do their duty occurs at the municipal level of police funding, the provincial level of court funding and at all levels that donB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™t do well at re-educating offenders while incarcerated.
