Given the too-frequent negative news involving youth, it is refreshing to read of the reported unqualified success of the militaryB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s local seven-week Raven Aboriginal Youth Initiative.

That this is a national program speaks well of the intent to promote a positive attitude and develop a work ethic in young Canadians.

Although it may be difficult to verify the short-term benefits of such programs, there are few former army, air force or navy cadets who would not agree that military training provides positive long-term benefits to individuals and their communities.
