Re: Cedar Vale Park
A few days ago I took a walk through this lovely little park located just off Mill Hill Road, as I have often done since we moved to this area.
There is a walking trail beside Mill Creek that meanders through cedar forests, up a couple of hills, providing a good aerobic exercise and then loops back; about a half hour walk. It is a park frequented by dog walkers, moms and kids and seniors like myself.
When I arrived at the summit of the first hill I was surprised to see a sign that indicated BԪַPrivate Property.BԪַ I continued over the rise and was shocked to see the remainder of the park had been completely bulldozed! It appears the area next to Hwy. 1 being deforested to make way for more development has also taken over this part of the park.
At what point did developers gain access to our parkland? It seems that no part of this development heaven that Langford has become is sacrosanct any longer. Pave paradise and put up a parking lot? Or more condos?
