The recent announcement by Finance Minister Kevin Falcon that the HST would be cut to 11 per cent in July 2012 and to 10 per cent in July 2014 is nothing short of an insult to the 500,000-plus British Columbians who signed the initiative petition demanding the HST be cancelled.

How stupid does Falcon think we are? ThereB次元官网网址檚 no guarantee the government will keep its word and cut the rate to 11 per cent in July 2012 anymore than when they told us that the HST wasnB次元官网网址檛 on their radar.

Furthermore, the next election is scheduled for 2013 and thereB次元官网网址檚 even less of a guarantee that a new government will cut the rate to 10 per cent in July 2014. And whoB次元官网网址檚 to say that by 2015 the rate wonB次元官网网址檛 be right back to where it is today, at 12 per cent?

FalconB次元官网网址檚 words are nothing more than empty promises made by a government desperately trying to save face and justify the deceitful way in which the HST was forced upon us.

By voting B次元官网网址測esB次元官网网址� to extinguish the HST, weB次元官网网址檒l be able to put this nightmare behind us once and for all.
