A seasonB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s notice or a onetime burning permit would have been considerate and appreciated by many Langford residents, particularly seniors, who already had a sizable burning pile, most often far from the road.
In the past two weeks we have observed two different individuals crossing the road and throwing their garden wastes into the bushes alongside the road. These acts will, no doubt, increase as time goes on.
Municipal curb side pickup service for lawn and garden wastes may prove to be too expensive for some taxpayers.
Why hasnB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™t a drop off site been established prior to the ban on burning? Most local municipalities have drop off sites - why doesnB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™t Langford?
Council should have let the taxpayers know the costs, compare the costs and then decide for, or against, municipal services for garden wastes. A more democratic process is needed.
