I wonder whose brainstorm it was at Victoria Regional Transit Authority to tear down perfectly functioning bus stop shelters and replace them with those totally useless structures in Langford on Goldstream Avenue.
Bus shelters are supposed to protect passengers from the elements while they wait for the bus. These new structures are way too high and with open sides, offer no protection at all against wind and rain. On a rainy day with a little bit of wind, there isnB次元官网网址檛 a dry spot under the structure.
The old shelters had a bench for elderly people to sit down on. In the new ones, they have to sit on a slab of concrete which gets totally wet when it rains.
Transit wants to encourage people to use the bus, but they are going about it the wrong way by putting up shelters that give no protection. I noticed of late they added a glass panel on one end, which I believe is not to protect passengers, but only a place to put up some advertising.
I just hope they donB次元官网网址檛 build any more of these contraptions. The old glass-enclosed shelters were working just fine.
