A recent letter writer was indignant about being ticketed for a seatbelt infraction. The fact that they were ticketed on MotherBԪַs Day is irrelevant.

The writerBԪַs references to RCMP setting up a BԪַcovertBԪַ position, BԪַan hour to processBԪַ the ticket, BԪַbackupBԪַ arriving in an BԪַexpensive RCMP SUVBԪַ and BԪַdefunding,BԪַ are cynical and nonsensical.

I well remember a young girl in my English class many years ago. She had a pretty face. She was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of a horrific accident and was ejected through the windscreen of the car in which she was travelling. Her injuries, facial and others, were life-altering.

The letter writer says that BԪַthere is nothing better for the police to do.BԪַ I disagree.
