LETTER: The axe should fall at BC Ferries

web1_letters-fwm-200814-letter_1

The current CEO of BC Ferries, by far and away, in my humble opinion, has failed in his job. Anyone who ignores sound preventative maintenance practices in such a high-profile company, as is BC Ferries, is a dismal total failure in the business of providing a public service.

And the chairman of the board has had a hand in all of this, as she was instrumental in firing Mark Collins, who had a far better track record compared to the incompetence of current management.

Look at doing major overhaul work mere days before the high summer season is a ridiculous error in judgment.

The axe should fall where the most incompetence is sourced, and that starts at the top of the chain of command.
