A monthly BC Transit bus pass costs $85, or $1020 per year.
If Victoria mayor and council really want to do something practical with $540,000 on a climate initiative they might consider reaching out to single occupancy vehicle drivers in Colwood and Langford who work downtown and offer to pay half the cost of a bus pass, an incentive which could actually alter behaviour and likely take over one thousand vehicles off of the road Monday to Friday.
What they are proposing with the climate team, workshops and community understanding is just a whole lot of blah, blah, blah.
