I would assume his thinking is if you are not here you shouldnBԪַt have to pay for it, even though you might need it on occasion. That might seem fair in a resort community, which clearly Victoria is not.
As a permanent resident I donBԪַt want to see my tax share increase because apartments that could be filled with full time residents who pay income tax to this province, sales tax and support local business year round donBԪַt have a place to live. It just seems common sense.
This makes me wonder what FletcherBԪַs real point is here. Just another chance to snipe at a government whose policies he clearly doesnBԪַt support?
It is not as if the last government did our citizens any favours when it comes to policies, or really, lack thereof regarding speculation in the real estate market.
