LETTER: Push for greater density increases need for urgent care in Victoria

Overcapacity at hospitals is resulting in patients being placed in hallways

A view of the Royal Jubilee Hospital.

With the push from municipalities for increased density and population growth, one would expect a bigger demand for urgent care beds. It is not unusual for today's patients to be placed in hallways, or worse, sent home because of overcapacity.

So who is planning for future expansion of urgent care? Is there any discussion with the province? I haven't received an answer from Saanich Planning, they seemed more interested in intense development and not consequences.
