The 50-plus Canadian students attending the non-profit, scholarship-driven Pearson College UWC in Metchosin this year were probably as surprised as I was to read the erroneous statement that B次元官网网址淧earson is only open to international studentsB次元官网网址� in Brookes Westshore IB School in Colwood opens its doors and cuts the ribbon (online article, Sept. 28).

In fact, Pearson B次元官网网址� a West Shore pre-university educational institution for 45 years B次元官网网址� and all 17 United World Colleges schools around the world, welcome Canadian and international students to their campuses.

Canadian students at Pearson come from British Columbia, from every province and territory and from a variety of Indigenous communities across the country. They, like all UWC students, are chosen based on merit and promise, not on ability to pay.
