Saanich Coun. Karen Harper has said there are no plans to build 18-storey buildings next to single-family dwellings.
Has she forgotten that council passed the official community plan last year, creating transit-oriented areas such as at McKenzie and Shelbourne. These areas penetrate 400 metres into neighbourhoods which allow not only 18 storeys next to single-family dwellings but also would tower over existing and developing properties at this intersection.
Where does this transition begin? It seems backwards.
