Congratulations to Mike Leskiw of the City of Langford and the Sooke School District on the completion of their jointly funded sports field project at Lakewood elementary school. It is a much needed facility for the community as well as the school.
Unfortunately, as fresh as the grass is, so are the dog feces. This field is not yet open to play but already dog owners have marked their territory by being irresponsible thus prompting a dog ban on school grounds at all times.
At other sites owners pick up after their dog only to tie the bags to a fence or throw it into a corner around the building. Equally irresponsible.
When will some dog owners accept that it is their responsibility to clean up after their dog?
