This month BC Hydro will start installing smart meters on homes throughout Victoria.

If you have any concerns about these wireless meters you cancontact BC Hydro and have the installation delayed until a mutually beneficial alternative solution is found.

After you inform them of your concerns BC Hydro will then add comments on your account so that the meter will not be installed. It is also advisable to place a note on your hydro meter stating that you have contacted BC Hydro and a smart meter is not to be installed.

So if you have concerns and do not want a smart meter installed on or near you home, contact BC Hydro at 1-888-964-9376. They may try to talk you out of your decision, but be insistent and you will gain some time to find a better solution.
