Here are this weekBԪַs thank yous and gripes about happenings in and around our West Shore community:

BEEF: Although it is heartwarming to hear Search and Rescue crews or the general public that help those in distress and get rescued, I am sick and tired of hikers or skiers who ignore warning signs then go beyond the signs or fences or out of bounds for their own selfish needs. You are putting so many at risk for your bad behaviour and costing thousands of dollars. There should be a system in place to recoup funds (although people might hesitate to contact them if they would be fined). A genuine mishap or tragedy is what S&R is for, not foolish behavior.

BOUQUET: Remembrance Day is coming up on Nov. 11 and poppies go on sale later this week. Please support the poppy fund and buy a poppy and wear it proudly to support our active members , our retired veterans and the cadets that may be the new members in the future. We owe so much to our military in war and peace times for our freedom.

BEEF: To anyone drinking and driving. How many times do the police have to remind people not to drink and drive? So many innocent people are killed each year by drunk drivers. As the police report, this is the worst call they have to make to innocent families. With Halloween and Christmas coming up, please stay home or stay put when drinking or always have a designated driver in place.
