Here are this weekB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s thank-yous and gripes about happenings in and around our West Shore community:
BEEF: to the candidates, especially Community First, who are littering Langford with all their signs: We donB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™t need faces plastered on miles of wasteful plastic. We need to know what you stand for. ThatB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s all. All those signs are driver distractions. Give us some substance. And, make sure that plastic is recycled.
BEEF: to Community First Langford for turning off comments on their Facebook page. Do you want to hear from the community or not?
BOUQUET: to MLJ, author of Intrabit One World, for your kindness and compassion, not just for your messages in your book but the words to yourself. You remind me to focus on my mental health.
HUGE BOUQUET: to Trish, who was extremely kind helping me look for my lost puppy. She had no idea who I was but came to my aid in a desperate time. Also, a huge bouquet to ROAM who immediately responded to TrishB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s request for help, and to all the neighbours and family who also came out to search. It all ended happily in just over an hour, one of the longest hours. I am just so grateful.
BEEF: to the jerk who went through my charity donation that was sitting at the curb, clearly marked with a D and a list of how many boxes and bags were there. They took the two acoustic guitars I had tucked under the black garbage bag, the bag (I assume to put them in) and some books. I hope karma comes around on this one.

BOUQUET: to Langford newcomer Jones BBQ. My wife and I love this place and used to trek out to their other location just for the brisket so itB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s great that we donB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™t have to drive as far anymore. Keep on smokinB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™!
BOUQUET: to all the poll workers this weekend at all our municipal voting sites. You were patient and very helpful. Thanks for all your hard work.
BEEF: to everyone who insists on putting aftermarket mufflers on their cars that do the exact opposite of muffling the sound. There is no reason your Mazda Miata needs to sound like a heat at the Speedway. How do you even hear ambulances?
BOUQUET: to INK FX for their giant 12-foot skeleton that is adorning the roof of the building. I drive by it every morning and canB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™t help but smile. Truly getting into the Halloween spirit!
BEEF: to the wasps that are still swarming around everywhere. I attempted to take advantage of the extended summer weather weB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™ve been enjoying and eat lunch at the park, which ended abruptly when a gang of wasps decided they wanted a piece of my lunch as well. Bugger off!
BOUQUET: to the staff at MoeB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s Furniture on Peatt. I went in just to browse last week and the staff were great B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·“ no pressure and extremely friendly. Their showroom is beautiful and they were very helpful, even when my daughter started getting cranky.
