Here are this weekB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s thank yous and gripes about happenings in and around our West Shore community:

BEEF: to Langford for not clearing intersections where people have to cross the street, nor do they clear bus stops. The bylaw says the owner will be fined. Transit says the municipality is responsible for bus stops.

BOUQUET: to the young man who delivers our Gazette on Selwyn Road. It doesnB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™t matter what the weather is like, he makes sure we get the paper.

BOUQUET: to Kristin at the Westshore Recreation reception desk for her cheery and efficient handling of the many people arriving to register for the numerous new programs. Despite a long lineup and many duties including directing people to their classes, renewing membership and booking courses, she maintained both a professional and pleasant processing of the many applicants. She was often juggling several requests simultaneously and quickly, never losing her smile or friendly manner. Thanks Kristin you were awesome.

BIG BOUQUET: to the great team at the Loghouse Pub. They are so friendly and make you feel like family. They have happy hour and the food is so delicious with great specials. Thank you for making the Loghouse a great place to unwind during these difficult times.

BEEF: to the people who shop with their friends and block entire aisles with their side-by-side carts. ItB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s really annoying to have your carts as a barrier to me trying to pick up three apples while you stand around wondering what you want to buy. Make a list and get some self-awareness.

BOUQUET: to the service centre at Ford in Colwood. They were very quick replacing my battery and they didnB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™t try to add on extra services I didnB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™t need. All around it was easy and hassle-free.

BEEF: to the Walmart parking lot. The entire thing is chaos no matter when you go, with pedestrians not looking both ways and cars trying to speed past them. ItB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s even worse in the dark. The rollbacks arenB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™t going anywhere, use your head and look at your surroundings before you dart out in a busy parking lot.

BOUQUET: to the woman at Anytime Fitness who complimented my leggings this weekend! I wasnB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™t sure how I felt wearing them but you gave me a confidence boost that made my workout way better. I didnB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™t get your name but thank you for being nice!

BOUQUET: to all the people who work to keep Havenwood Park so well-maintained! I visited for the first time this weekend and was pleasantly surprised with how clean the park was and how nice the paths were. There was even a staircase in the middle of the woods. Definitely my new go-to spot for my overly active puppy.

BEEF: to the parking lots with snow left taking up parking spaces. Please break up the snow so the parking lots are safer since they get so icy with the snow.

BOUQUET: to Oak Tree Naturals B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·“ I went to get relief from my earaches and the owner, Aman, was really helpful with advice. Plus his dog is really friendly and brightened up my day.

BEEF: to the drivers who speed through construction zones. These people put their lives on the line each day so please slow down and show respect.

BEEF: to the blue truck who was on my bumper when I had a flat tire. I was driving slow to pull into the first safe driveway and I didnB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™t want to damage my tire.

BOUQUET: to all the letter carriers especially, during all the snow. We always got our mail on time and our mail carrier, Mike, is also so cheerful.
